Hollywood Personal Injury Lawyer

Injury Lawyers for Hollywood Residents

The Injury Advocates represents people in Hollywood who have been seriously hurt in car, truck, motorcycle, and pedestrian crashes, falls, and other accidents, and families who have lost a loved one. Our founder, Kweku Darfoor, is personally involved in every case, and we meet clients wherever is easiest for them.

Insurance companies work to pay as little as possible on serious claims. We find the angles they would rather you not see, and we prepare every case as if it will be tried in court.

Where Hollywood Crashes Happen

Hollywood stretches from the beach to State Road 7, with interstate traffic, a busy downtown, and large numbers of visitors. Many of the cases we see begin on:

  • I-95, where heavy traffic and sudden slowdowns lead to serious crashes
  • US-1 (Federal Highway) and A1A, near downtown and Hollywood Beach, where tourists, pedestrians, and cyclists mix with traffic
  • Hollywood Boulevard, Sheridan Street, and Stirling Road, busy east-west corridors with frequent turning crashes
  • State Road 7 (US-441), including traffic around the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino
  • The Hollywood Beach Broadwalk and nearby streets, where people on foot, bikes, and scooters are at risk

We move quickly to secure the evidence that disappears fast: traffic and business camera footage, vehicle data, 911 recordings, and witness statements.

Your Case in Broward County Courts

Injury cases from Hollywood are filed in Broward County’s 17th Judicial Circuit. The South Regional Courthouse at 3550 Hollywood Boulevard, right here in Hollywood, handles smaller civil claims, while larger injury lawsuits are typically heard at the Broward County Courthouse in downtown Fort Lauderdale. We know these courts, and we prepare every case as if it will go to trial.

How Long Do You Have to File?

For most Florida negligence claims, including car accidents, the deadline is generally two years from the date of the injury. Wrongful death claims also generally must be filed within two years. Claims against government agencies have their own notice requirements and shorter timelines. Because evidence and deadlines both slip away, it is best to speak with a lawyer as soon as possible after a serious injury.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to come to your office?

No. Our office is in Plantation, about 20 minutes northwest via I-595, but many clients never need to make the trip. We meet by phone, by video, or at your home or hospital in Hollywood.

How much does it cost to hire The Injury Advocates?

Nothing up front. Your consultation is free, and we handle injury cases on a contingency fee basis, which means our fee is a percentage of the money we recover for you. If we do not win your case, you owe no attorney’s fees and no case costs.

What if I was hurt at a casino or on Seminole Tribe property?

Injuries on tribal land can involve tribal sovereign immunity and special claim procedures with strict notice deadlines that do not apply to ordinary claims. A crash with another driver in a parking garage may still be a claim against that driver. Contact a lawyer quickly so no deadline is missed.

What if I was partly at fault?

Under Florida’s comparative negligence law, you can generally still recover damages as long as you were not more than 50 percent at fault, though your award is reduced by your share of fault. Insurers often overstate a victim’s fault, so do not assume you have no case.

How long do I have to file an injury claim in Florida?

For most negligence claims, Florida’s deadline is generally two years from the date of the injury. Claims against government agencies have additional notice requirements, so it is important to speak with a lawyer early.
